Learning Area : Three Dimensional Shapes (3-D Shapes)

Learning Objective : Pupils will be taught to describe and classify common 3-D shapes.

Learning Outcomes : At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

i. Identify three-dimensional shapes based on descriptions

Previous Knowledge : Pupils are able to identify the three-dimensional shapes as

a whole

Teaching Aids And Materials : Aluminum tins, ping-pong balls, double-sided tape, boxes,

three-dimensional shapes (cube, cuboid, pyramid, cylinder, cone and sphere), mahjong paper, worksheet, whiteboard, marker pen and flash card.

Set Induction (3 min) | Robot | 1. Teacher divides pupils into four groups equally. 2. Teacher distributes the boxes, aluminium tins, ping-pong balls and double-sided tape to each group. 3. Teacher instructs each group to create a robot by using the materials given. 4. Pupils should be cooperated while creating the robot. 5. Teacher asks pupils about the shapes that they used to create a robot. 6. Pupils answer the question. Step 1 (10 min) | 1. Teacher shows the three-dimensional shapes to the pupils. (cube, cuboid, pyramid, cylinder, cone, sphere) 2. Teacher explains the meaning of flatface, curved face, edge and corner. 3. Teacher introduces the features of the three-dimensional shapes and guides pupils identify the appearance of three-dimensional shapes as a whole. Example: · Cube has 6 flat faces. It has 8 corners. It has 12 edges. · Cuboid has 6 flat faces. It has 8 corners. It has 12 edges. · Pyramid has 5 flat faces. It has 5 corners. It has 8 edges. · Cylinder has 1 curved face and 2 flat faces. It has no corner. It has 2 edges. · Cone has 1 curved faces and 1 flat face. It has 1 edge. · Sphere has only 1 curved face. It has no corners and no edges. 4. Step 2 (8 min) | 1. Teacher shows the table of three-dimensional shapes on the whiteboard. 2. Teacher asks pupils to fill in the table. 3. Pupils come out to fill in the table. 4. Selepas pengajaran dan pembelajaran dijalankan, saya telah berjaya mencungkil bakat anak murid saya mencipta robot dengan kreatif. Murid-murid dapat menumpuk perhatian sewaktu pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Selain itu, mereka dapat melibatkan diri secara aktif dalam aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Murid-murid dapat menguasai kemahiran dengan menjawab soalan dengan betul dan tepat. Manakala terdapat sebahagian murid yang tidak berani menjawab soalan. Dengan itu, saya memberi pujian kepada murid yang menjawab soalan dengan tepat dan menggalakkan murid yang tidak berani menjawab soalan cuba menjawab soalan dengan bahasa yang positif.
